Fog Alert! Flight operations hit in Jaipur, Patna; Delhi-bound trains delayed due to poor visibility, check full list
Indigo flight operations in Jaipur, Patna, Amritsar have been affected due to severe fog in northern India, the low cost airline said its post on X on Friday.
Meanwhile, dense fog continues to impact life in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and other states. Dense fog over Northern and North-eastern parts of the country hindered transportation services in several states including Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Bihar.

“Fog conditions observed (at 0830 hours IST of today): Very Dense fog over Jammu, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, West Rajasthan,Uttar Pradesh, Bihar; Dense Fog over Delhi, Uttarakhand, East rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh and Tripura and Moderate Fog over West MP, Odisha and Manipur. India” Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Due to low visibility, train services to and from Delhi were impacted on Friday. As many as twenty two trains bound to Delhi from various parts of the country are running late due to various reasons including fog conditions in the northern region.
Several states continued to shiver due to severe cold wave on Thursday as well. Large tracts of northern India experienced severe cold day conditions on Thursday as maximum temperatures remained in the range of 12-18 degrees Celsius, several notches below the normal for the season.
The weather office said persistent low cloud cover and absence of sunlight over the region led to the maximum temperatures in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and north Madhya Pradesh dropping to below normal, in the range of 2-6 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department, a cold day is declared if the maximum temperature dips between 4.5-6.4 degrees below the normal for the season.
